i feel like thats the only reason they would do this. they already work with the USG on all kinds of evil shit and its never been a problem until the USG demanded the safety shit needs to go

The “safety” component seems to mask a lot of the truth behind what these systems are doing. I think it’s all evil but I think also that hiding that it’s evil lets the evil spread its wings more.

For the most part though governments only care that line goes up. The AI bubble is masking a very ugly economic reality that has been dire under that veneer for a long time.
