@Suiseiseki @cashdragon @sun even $1 is a lot for a transaction fee of any amount, but more importantly look at the tx fees from around 2017 and around 2021, when the network was actually being used; fees spiked, transactions could take a week or get stuck forever unless you RBF'd to an even higher fee.

Speaking of RBF: when that was introduced, instant transactions became untrustworthy as you could RBF it back to yourself

@Suiseiseki @cashdragon @sun the reason fees are "low" now is because nobody fucking uses bitcoin, they're all jerking each other off on Lightning and Cashu and whatever else
