@deadsuperhero there was an interesting discussion at the AP conference in Prague, the question was asked if we cared about migratable identities. Everyone said yes except all the people who worked on pleroma, where everyone said that you can just make a new account.

@lain One of the big benefits of NOSTR vs. Fedi is the key-based identity. Even if you change your well-known @ everyone can still locate you via hash identifier. Something similar to this but implemented for the Fediverse would be pretty huge: able to migrate across instances with different @s but maintaining a set, discoverable identity. @deadsuperhero
@adiz @deadsuperhero I don’t think so, really. Nomadic identity is like “groups”, people claim they want it and it would be amazing, but all the projects that have them have zero users

@lain @adiz @deadsuperhero The project that has groups has 0 users because statusnet/gnusocial has a million federation issues with modern fedi implementations to the point of being functionally incompatible.
