I don't understand why it's supposed to be bad to compare "apples to oranges"
first of all they are both fruits so it's actually really easy

second of all even if your point is that they taste different because they are different fruit, you still have to evaluate all competitors. If the orange is cheaper and tastes better to more people they're going to choose it over the apple.
