@j She is a public figure that married a Media Guy. I don't know what her deal is but I just assume she's evil.
@p she also lied about pretty much her entire past.

This is standard practice. See attached.

@p @j it's probably because it's a job that confers some amount of prestige and status, but which is still easy enough for the unexceptional kids of rich people to do. (reversion to the mean can be a bitch)
also probably can't hurt to have your loyal progeny influencing public opinion (loyal to the grift, that is)

Rich families used to send the third son to the church; you want to embed your family, you use the press now, not the church.

This is the main reason. Anderson Cooper is a Vanderbilt, did you know?

And why his brother Kathy Griffin was a D List celebrity.
@bajax @j @Humpleupagus @p it's a strange, possibly legit symbolic representation of the passion called the pieta. Assuming it is so, the image of mary is admittedly very odd, but there appears to be the body of Christ (below), the sun and moon representing the eclipse that occurred, and elements of the Arma Christi: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arma_Christi

@bajax @j @Humpleupagus @p i've seen dragons, bats, darth vader busts, pet spiders, and similar in kid's rooms. The pieta is hardly as bad as it gets. It may also be her room, not the kids -- it doesn't look like any kid's room I've seen.

It is about the anguish of your child being killed. It is a little fucked up to put in your kid's room or over *anyone's* bed.
> it doesn't look like any kid's room I've seen.
How many Vanderbilts have you partied with?

@p @j @bajax @Humpleupagus i'm not a vanderbilt enjoyer, so none.
Some people complain about crucifixes, which I've seen in plenty of rooms, including kid's rooms and hospital wards over the beds.
Western (Roman Catholic) imagery tends to be a bit on the bloody side.

@jeremiah @Humpleupagus @bajax @j It's not the violence, it's the specific *theme*: a mother's agony over her violently killed son. And this image is more like a mother's smugness as she burns her violently killed son. That is *weird*.
Everyone critiques her, but no one asks why Charlie married her. Even if he didn't know everything, I doubt he didn't know enough to know to stay he fuck away, but he didn't.
@Humpleupagus @j @bajax @p @jeremiah same thing with JD Vance
