this is interesting
and i dont think he's crazy for doing it
maybe a little but its not a bad gamble

just imagine how fast all these data centers are going to need hardware turnover in this day and age, and how the market could change rapidly when people stop being enamored with llm's

local agents are going to be the way and i think a lot of these guys know it, a buddy of mine is training a few for tedious data tasks at work and isn't telling anyone
His timing has been off lately.

"Michael Burry’s track record on shorting is defined by one legendary success and a series of controversial, often premature, bearish calls.

The 2008 Housing Crash: Burry is most famous for correctly identifying and shorting the subprime mortgage market in 2005–2007, generating over $700 million in profits for his investors and $100 million personally before shutting down Scion Capital.

Post-2008 Performance: Analysts estimate that approximately 71% of his major bearish predictions since the financial crisis were wrong in timing or magnitude, though he correctly identified the 2021 meme stock crash and the 2023 bank run.

Recent AI Bets (2025–2026): Burry has shorted Palantir (PLTR) and Nvidia (NVDA) via put options, citing an AI-driven bubble; while his Palantir position has gained value due to stock declines, his Nvidia puts have remained underwater as the stock traded sideways or hit highs.

Criticism: Critics, including Matthew Tuttle of Tuttle Capital Management, argue that Burry’s post-2008 calls have "not been good," suggesting his fame from The Big Short overshadows his mixed accuracy in timing market crashes."
