The way it works is, you grant the tipbot a temporary permission to execute transactions on your behalf, with limits you set. It does rely on an external service but the wallet itself is non-custodial. The key is inside an OS passkey and never leaves your machine.
@hj probably I don't know. But you can of course revoke its ability to do transactions, or do a transaction directly on the wallet instead of using the tipbot.

Also because now it's wallet-first you can't tip someone until they sign up for the tipbot
