I used to want to live in FMA world but now I'm so glad to live in a world where God is omnibebevolent and unassailable and where powerful siddhis are almost exclusively awarded to the righteous (so no evil alchemists)

@Engelsax I had stupid escapist fantasies but wanting to be an alphonse at the end of the series after the villains got beat was pretty dumb. I mean its a world where "God" accepts other human souls as a form of payment. fucked up.
@georgia Why do you want to be Alphonse? So you can marry a little Chinese girl?
@Engelsax I like winry better actually. the only reason I wanted to be Alphonse is because hes more pacifist and got to keep his alchemy.
@georgia I think the notion that the world is changed and paradigms are transcended in a hermetic kind of transmutation is just mythologically true but I also don't think FMA pulled off that idea as well as Eva (stereotype example but it sets the standard in some kind of way)
I liked the 03 story where it's all a petty, and transparently futile, attempt at eternal life.

@georgia I often find myself liking popular things for completely different reasons than the consensus but everything people like about the original FMA are things I don't care about at all.
@Engelsax I like brotherhood a lot
