14why do they even bother watching if it's so not to their taste?
@flux_the_cat >Wouldn't it be great if the hero wasn't a hero? I love everything meaning nothing and nothing having value or meaning! Hahaha. Why yes, I am on SSRIs, how did you know?
Wow. What a champ. Glad random Twitter retards feel like they've got the secret sauce that would have made Frieren REALLY resonate with people instead of being some small time show no one talks about.

@flux_the_cat >"Hmmm I think it would be a massive improvement if nothing was ever good and everything sucked"
@flux_the_cat this guy is a faggot
He was flawed he spared a demon once
God forbid there are people with strong moral convictions and ideals. And even worse that some people remember them fondly.
In the case of Freiren (as i understand) he was already a hero that underwent his journey, so it would make sense he's resolute and idealistic

@flux_the_cat But... Himmel WAS a flawed character.
Do these retards miss the point that our blue haired hero was VERY vain?

@flux_the_cat THE SHOW ALREADY DOES IT
THE IDEALIZED VERSION IS WHAT THE PEOPLE KNOW AND FRIEREN REMEMBERS HOW HE ACTUALLY WAS A VAIN GOOBER BACK WHEN THEY WERE ADVENTURING

@flux_the_cat Im so proud to be totally media illiterate
@flux_the_cat but himmel is indeed flawed, man didnt give freiren children and that will forever be his biggest mistake
@flux_the_cat Himmel was explicitly shown as being too forgiving of demons, a lesson he had to learn the hard way.
@flux_the_cat This vindicates Frieren (the work, not the character) to some extent as it takes a stance against the "nothing is true" and "there is no inherent meaning in the world, fiction must continue to deconstruct all structures that imply it" crowd (this is the modern audience as a result of the modern Western tradition). With this, Frieren places itself on the side of the pre-modern tradition (see Tolkien), even if only partially. The issue remains that Frieren gives this without an ontology, without a metaphysics (God in heaven, the Uncreated Creator) that would actually justify Himmel's character and behavior. Instead it is presented as feel-good escapism culminating in private relationships (personal memory). I assume this appeals to many moderns as it offers shreds of myth without the detested baggage of religion, spiritual responsibility, and judging the self (repentance). But also without any substantial power to affect reality. Verdict? Tales for itchy (elf)ears.
@flux_the_cat Wow that is GAY!
I thought it would read "frieren would be better if himmel tapped that and made hybrid elf babies like a bleacher would"
