@feld No! But it turns out that's one of the things that we *can't* automate—fruit/veg picking for many species is problematic because they produce is too delicate for machinery.

@cstross 10 years ago that used to be true, yeah. But every year now we check at least one of those crops off the list that people said were impossible to automate

Every day I wake up with the fear of getting replaced by robots and then I remember that a robot cannot put tiny fibers through conduits and rack up servers half my weight.
Every day I wake up with the fear of getting replaced by AI when writing code and then I see it write code that does X and say it does Y and Z.

And that's when I say, not yet.
