@feld hey was there any behind the scenes discussion about the pwait issue, why it didnt make it into yesterday's bunch of patches / errata ?

@dch it can't be backported to an existing release because it changes kernel behavior. An entirely new kqueue event was added. We have to wait for the next minor releases or you have to run a stable branch I think 😭
@feld mmm I guess that’s mostly fair enough, but we could at least have applied my hack to rc service which would deal with 80% of the problem for daemons not starting. I will see if I can come up with a persuasive argument..
