@cjd Lol. Electric trucks and cars are being used to power a home's solar panels. I don't have one, but I'm rethinking solar since electricity is so expensive, having tripled in price. There are also myths I believed.
US solar installations are insanely expensive compared to what the physical hardware actually costs.
Raw panels are about 10 cents per watt, an inverter is about $600 and a 50kw battery is around $3k. So about $6k should buy you a 20kw installation, but I hear about people paying 50k for the same.
I guess there's some support, warrantee and liability in there, but it's impossible for a 10x markup to be legitimate.

@cjd We're thinking about it. At $600/mo & climbing for electric, it would pay off for us sooner, but outlay is expensive. They last longer than the 25 yrs warranty. Name brands cheat, sell more than needed. Competition works. Panels w/minor, cosmetic defects are cheaper. Congress let the 30% tax credit expire. Personal use "laws" are popping up AGAINST them. Nice, huh? W/installation: $13/$14 G's. DIY: $6G's. Calculations are just for us, but our taxes are much more. No money tree here.

2@cjd Insanity! Anything that helps is taken out of our hands by gov't. We don't even own our property anymore, and I don't see any action on that front. We complain about the left expecting gov't to solve their problems, but the right does the same thing. We're all dependent. One side can slow it down. The other speeds it up, but gov't can't save us. It's all a money game we're not part of. A candidate must have billions of dollars to compete. It's nauseating.
Government is a black box. The dEmOcRaTiC pRoCeSs is pretty obviously nothing more than theater. You can tell this by (e.g.) age verification laws, which are being rolled out despite dramatic popular opposition, and are also being done in lock-step between western countries.
