@Bleukitty Because the concept of just producing the batteries that are not faulty is too much for the Chinese automakers
I may be wrong on this, but I think pretty much everybody at this point is making batteries that are pretty safe unless you crash, and I don't see any world in which something punctures the battery without rendering the ejection mechanism inoperable as well.
However, running something like a tailpipe to the battery enclosure might be a good idea, since it's realistic to imagine the fire being guided in a safe(r) direction
