Iran wants to sink the US into Iran, Israel wants Iran dead and the US out of the middle east so they can landgrab Greater Israel and take control of the Persian Gulf, the US is not in control of it's own decision making so what it wants is irrelevant.

Iran doesn't care about natgas at this point, the goal is to collapse America, kill Israel, and win the middle east for themselves.

Now who does care is China, and they're going to lean on Iran not to damage that stuff. But Japan and Korea need natgas too and they're gonna lean on the US not to damage it either. This is why the Israeli strike on the natgas infra was like one of 3 times Trump ever rebuked them. That stuff is sensitive.

You're right, there are different ways Iran can go about this, but their win condition is basically when the US starts conscription, so what they're not going to do is hold the US off at a distance...
