NATO is basically a paper tiger anyway.
Everybody knows that if Russia invades a NATO country, the US is not going to be automagically involved. They'll be involved if it benefits them, if it doesn't then they won't, that's geopolitics.
Get rid of NATO and guess what: If Russia invades a (post)NATO country, the US will get involved if it benefits them, if it doesn't then they won't, that's geopolitics.
