The GOOG strategy has not changed. They want to rid the internet of user generated content. That's one reason why they unceremoniously killed Google+, despite it being a top ten social network.

That's a dumbass take. UGC rules Youtube and there's no chance of that changing.

@cjd @judgedread that's my impression as well. Cable news and netflix instead of UGC is no internet at all. Not even AI will touch (significantly) on this
