Before the hippies, it was widely understood that swamps should all be either made into nice beautiful lakes, or else filled in - because nature should conform to human needs and aesthetic preferences.

Then they renamed swamps "wetlands" and started all this protection shit.
@cjd And then everybody wonders why it floods their nice little former swamp town.. Would rather keep the nature and get rid of the poo hued hominid detritus, more than enough room and housing for White America, we don't need to expand into areas that actually do serve a purpose just to make more mcmansions for invader filth..

I've lived in France for over a decade, I haven't seen the whole country but I have a car and I've gone places and also taken trains before that.

I have never seen a single "swamp" here. Everything is either farms, managed woodlots, or quaint little villages and towns. There is a lot of regulation on building - like, a LOT. For example, if you own a house with a thatched roof, you are not allowed to swap it out for shingles or slates because it'll change the character of the town.

BUT, with the exception of really specific designated zones like estuaries, I'm not aware of any regulatory code protecting swamps and trash lands.

Nature is meant to be molded into OUR paradise. The idea that it was perfect before and our existence is wrecking it, is a bunch of commie gobbledygook.
