Problem w/ machine guns is ammo is expensive because each bullet is a fairly complex assembly with it's own explosive charge, primer, etc.

Something like a paintball gun except powered by propane or diesel explosions (to get enough fps) would be cool b/c ammo would be a hopper full of dirt cheap lead balls...
