I remember reading the H2SO4 poem in a book that must have been published in the '30s or '40s.
But it was "Little Willie" in that rendition, and was one of a bunch of other Little Willie poems: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Willie_rhymes
One of my favorites that I can remember:
Little willie from the mirror sucked the mercury all off
Thinking in his childish error it would cure the whooping cough
At the funeral willie's mother said to Mrs. Brown
