I worry that some people aren’t taking Omarchy seriously enough. It’s not just another Linux distro. It’s a well-orchestrated campaign to centralize power and influence within the Linux FOSS ecosystem. And it’s working.

Anyone paying attention to DHH and what he stands for can see what’s going on here. When the guy who thinks that brown people don’t belong in society hires the guy who thinks trans people shouldn’t exist, you can see where this is going.

@neatnik it seems to be an annual truth that some people value the specific moral character and ideology of the people who make a thing (to varying levels of quality-detriment) while others care about the quality of a product and ignore the character of the person who has made the thing, and that these two groups keep forgetting about each other and being shocked to learn there are people who are not like them

maybe it's just the churn of young people learning the lesson because they were never introduced to it in formal education or childhood
@binkle @neatnik caring about the values of the people who make things that i use seem exhausting. i imagine i'd end up with dysfunctional shit software if j went that route. tbh i don't know about the values of the developers of 99% of the software that i use and i don't want to know and don't want to care.

for example i use kitty, i don't know the dev, don't know about their values, don't want to know. it is good software and that is enough for me.
