Cleopatra's Needle, a New Kingdom era obelisk brought to London in 1878. Originally from Heliopolis 1450BC. Its inscriptions venerate Thutmose III and his military victories. I looked up the exact translation of the hieroglyphs, and sure enough, one of the peoples he specifically mentions as having conquered is "Rutennu" which is another word for Semitic speaking Canaanites now called Retjenu: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retjenu The thorn in the side of Egypt and the ancestors of the Israelites, whom Thutmose III is dabbing on. One of the Hyksos pharaohs, the one who named himself after Apophis, the giant evil subterranean snake of Egyptian mythology who wants to swallow the sun, was also called a Retjenu.
>Victorians erected this antisemitic pillar glorifying conquest over the heebs ancestors
ya love to see it. if only they knew they'd probably tear it down.
