So, John ROmero used Window Manager (one of the many windows managers on *nixes) running on NextStep machines to design Quake 1 maps. We can see below on the bash prompt, his username on the system was johnr.
@hfaust the point is that by not having sugar, the body don't storage it; as a drink it's still not healthy, even the strong gas (or bubbles, whatever you call it) it's not good for the body.
But sugar, and specially THE sugar they use in drinks like Coke and Pepsi nowadays, it's sadly poison until if you don't burn out them.

8th of August it's my birthday.
Sharing this just in case someone can help me throwing some dollars to my ko-fi as a gift, so I can take the 1st week vacation in 18 years of not being able to feel some real nature outside of Buenos Aires.

@crunklord420 this was my peak when learning OpenGL and C++; I also loaded models into maps -but it was Quake 2, that seems Quake 1
@mac_ack it was working perfectly, but there were some things that I couldn't do -or rather, I could but were a bit inconvenient, like spin up a NGINX in a Docker on boot time to have a "personal page" everytime the computer was on (all day except a few hours at night). And I wouldn't install a NGINX on Windows, it doesn't feel "natural".
I wish I could explain better why I went back when I had no problems. It's the feeling of using my home OS, but also a new spin of it (I used MX Linux based on Debian for 4 years) - I'm discovering all the new services/daemons, programs, and changes they made for Wayland and other things with Fedora 44. It has been kinda nice for now.

@georgia I know that feeling from the first time I wanted to use MX Linux as it came configured with XFCE. I think it took me only 2 or 3 days to find it not only usable, but found some advantages that having the bar at the bottom doesn't give you -of the top of my head, notifications and mini widgets are easier to notices.
Now I want to setup the bar vertically myself haha; I remembered another advantage were that you had 100% of the entire vertical area of the monitor, while always having the bar on the side all the time (as obvious as it sound I wanted to make it clear).
Finally, you can give MX Linux a try, I don't know if it will work on your Mac so check before on the forum, but it's based on the fusion of 2 distros (MEPIS and Antix) who wanted to make a stabler-than how stable it's Debian. They also introduced many useful tools like USB making, Kernel setup, their own GUI for package system... and it comes with XFCE vertically aligned as I was saying - I got used thanks to that super ultra stable distro.

@georgia have you tried right click on the bottom bar, show panel configuration, set position, and move it to your left or right? it can feel weird, but that's the default of MX Linux on XFCE, and once you get used to it it the same as comfortable as a panel below, and I would add it's faster because moving the mouse to the sides... IDK, felt faster for me
@georgia always an Appimage it's available, I go for it, a couple of reasons, mostly that always works and doesn't fill the OS with linked libs.
@georgia DO NOT have it like me, I need Golang servers, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Postfix, Dovecot, videogames, etc. to work, plus I'm behind a hardware router with more classic rules:

@georgia I like it, more because of the theme and colors than because it's animated 
@p @cjd that makes sense, I must have the kernels in another partition (can you have it on your Linux main one though?) because they began to have an important filesize *I think* (50-150mb?) - basically by what you told, I think I have a 16mb boot partition (the EFI one) with the bootloader, another partition with the kernels and stuff, another with the main system ("/") and another for my $HOME. I should check it on gpart later. Thanks for the explanation.
