@georgia @anemone imma be real, it's safest for all of us women, femmes etc., even for other men, to assume that men by default have malicious intentions until proven otherwise.
with all the stuff coming out in LA about several leftist organizers in the aftermath of the Hugo Chavez allegations, you should never assume that just because a man has left leaning politics, doesn't mean that he will not be a misogynist or a rapist behind closed doors. Even several gay activists here got outed as rapists sodomizing homeless youth.
I do think that sexual repression has a huge influence with evangelicals, mormons, and conservative women and men, but people in leftist circles are more open and insidious about their desires and frankly, I have met and known too many men who "organize" just to meet alt and sexually open women they want to fuck.
