@vitalis To say that could "easily tank" a hit from a sword is insane but tbh it is true that a single cut will almost never end a fight.
You can see this in basically every liveleak video of machete fights, people get hit but they don't stop fighting.
This is part of the reason that Europe became so obsessed with the thrust when dueling got big. Thrusts end fights, especially ones in center mass.
In the meme, there's a reason the guy isn't holding the knife back for a cut like he is the sword.

@vitalis It wouldn't end the fight but it would make it significantly more difficult for them to continue so it's still valuable.
There's a video of a man blocking a cut to his head with his forearm, and when the opponent moves the machete around to strike again he raises the same forearm and blocks again.
He still it, but his arm is broken and it's dangling in an unnatural way where he can't use his hand (or pick up his weapon) anymore.
If it had been his left hand he'd still be fighting.
