> Western countries are by contrast, roughly the opposite of ethno-states, with governments continuously stirring the pot of ethnic tensions, air-dropping new ethnic groups into communities, and changing the rules of caste system that is protected minority groups.

> This sudden push to regulate the internet, eliminate anonymity, and undermine privacy is almost certainly because the administrative class has realized that The Deal which defined the internet - free speech in exchange for pervasive surveillance - has not worked out the way they had hoped. So now they’re trying to renege on their end of it.

Well, nobody really believes the safety line. The real exchange of value here is free speech in exchange for mass surveillance.

Nobody would voluntarily put the internet in their home, or develop applications for it, or anything else if the ONLY thing it did was spy on them. It had to be useful for anyone to want to use it.

The issue for government is the computers and the internet behave more like Pandora's box and less like a control tool that can only be used by a chosen elite.
You cannot put things back into the box after you've opened it unless you destroy the world..and even then, it's not guaranteed that a hard reset would erase this knowledge/technology.

@cjd @Zeb @Java the solution is to spy on members of the government

if they say they can put a camera up and watch your house 24/7, put a camera in front of every local politicians house and every cop's house

and when they resist, give them the ol 'well if you're not doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about'

imo all of this shit is just to brow beat normies, not actually corral anyone into spaces where free speech is completely off limits, its also to try and make people think their little signal some how rises above all the noise of the internet

reminder, there are dozens of domestic terrorist groups in the us, right now, and they never get their doors kicked in, you could say its because they have the right friends in the gov, but honestly they just dont make enough noise to elevate their signal to the level of action

and a lot of this data collection is for retroactive punishment imo

>you were a raycis this many times and judge ook ook is going to oversee your case and hand down a very personal sentence because his nigger feelings were hurt by proxy
