Houses should be more like software.
In all respects where it sucks ass, they are already like software.

THE ONE BIG PROBLEM I SEE IS THE ROOFLINE WILL BE A MCMANSION STYLE LANDSCAPE OF HILLS AND VALLEYS THAT ARE A NIGHTMARE TO CLEAN, BUT MCMANSIONS ALREADY HAVE THAT

@nugger I'm not smart enough to predict what sort of tech will win out. It might well be that aircrete big blocks, maybe even made on-site, win out because of better insulation properties, or something different

but yes, basically that. I don't think the McMansion roof is a necessary consequence. If you standardize the dimensions of the room modules, you could have standardized roof sections that fit over it, and the corner piece would just be a corner piece.
It might even reduce McMansionification of the roof to have fewer available combinations

@WandererUber @nugger seems reasonable, but incentives are to make rooms smaller and roofs lower do you can fit more subhumans per square meter (coffin homes are trending goyim)

@wizardmanperson @nugger that incentive doesn't go away if you don't use modules. And it has nothing to do with McMansion roofs either way.
