5Funny how I dropped this game last time even though I enjoy listening to the creator rant about design. I got stuck very early on and was very frustrated with the difficulty. There are some spikes early on which feel unfair. It's probably a me problem because I don't play puzzle games normally. All I had to do was explore the island for a bit and come back later with a fresh mind. Last time I got to the second or third puzzle in castle gardens and quit, frustrated with myself.
I've seen a few clips of Jon talking about how the puzzles should teach you something interesting, and how he sought the moment you go "A-ha!" and so forth. Deep design and what not. He can explain it much better. I've found that while I sometimes get frustrated when I am stuck, that these are really good at putting a smile on my face when I get them.
One moment that really made me happy was when I did these from this angle and it worked :)
very elegantly designed. A very pleasant experience overall once I got over the initial hump

Figuring this out also really made me smile right now :)

@WandererUber never heard of this game before but it looks very pretty
@bleedingphoenix it is, both in visuals and mechanical elegance.
It has very high review scores and I feel like they are justified.
If you get stuck right at the beginning, go somewhere else (this is what filtered me the first time. I didn't realize I could just explore and come back later)
