ive been reading up on the thing with that failed free to play game highguard, mainly how none of them were able to see what was about to happen once the game shipped.
and im starting to understand why it keeps happening that new companies crash and burn in the most idiotic and predictable ways.
think of it this way, the people that worked on hightguard and other games like it were office drones there entire careers.
from the day they left schooling they went into a corporate environment that did everything from the earliest job training to late career position hoping.
these people very literally dont know anything else other then the way a corporate office does things.
then when some of these drones leave there office job or get fired they are forced to confront the real world for the very first time in there adult lives.
they are slaves.
to be precise, they act the exact fucking same freed slaves did that never had to think for themselves, then all of a sudden they had to somehow survive on there own in a world that is deeply foreign to there very way of thinking.
other then the very concept of this being honestly hilarious, it also shows a gigantic fucking problem in the mentality of the people that make up modern corporations.
for one that every single person that exist within there group can not exist without the others.
not the office drones, not the management, not the leadership.
all of them are lost without the wider corporate structure to support them.
then there is the even worst aspect that led me to think about all of this.
because the entirety of the modern corporation is so interdependent and only cares about its internal structure, it is fundamentally blind to anything that exist outside of itself.
they are not part of the real world, so anything they do has nothing to do with reality.
this explains so much that has happened over the last few decades.
its like the most influential powers that shape our society are deaf, dumb and blind schizophrenics that do anything that comes to there insane minds.
no wonder everything has gotten more and more non sensical, there never was any sense to begin with.
and not only do we somehow have to live with this, but just imagine what will happen once it all crumbles.
there will be hundreds of millions that have no idea how to function in reality.
as more and more of these drones loose there jobs over the next decade, things will get a lot worse as everything they touch will turn to shit.
i foresee acceleration of the downwars spiral like we have not seen before.
and this time not out of zog or politics, but the way people interact with one another.
millions with terminal reddit brain will have to somehow continue existing without the structure that kept them save all there lives.
