@jazzilla He's right but also wrong. Self-rule does not equal democracy. Self-rule means that an ethnic group is not governed by a foreign one.
It's a nitpick, but the distinction is important. Because if you impose "you can rule yourself but ONLY with 1-vote-per-person democracy" then that isn't self-rule at all. Most of the time some sort of hierarchy emerges. Roman republic was self-rule. American democracy can hardly be called that
