I was doing a search on fruit bushes easily grown and surprised to see that every berry bush is out of stock. Not only that, but there are states that have banned several of them. It's never noted what the reason is.

7What types of berries are banned? Do you remember seeing?
I was originally inquiring because I wondered if there are any other berries that are banned, or if it's just those...

Hmmm. I grew up in PA and we had both gooseberries and currants. We came back to PA in 2014 and around 2020 I bought gooseberries from Stark brothers.
Everyone says "oh, I haven't seen those since I was little"
The deer seem to enjoy them. I hope I don't end up being the nexus of cwd and pine rust blight! π¬

2@Shannon14850 I'm sure you'll be okay, lol. How did they taste? @cjd @Lori @Phil @TXHolly

Thanks. I'm not worried about me. Just the mountain.
I grew about 4 gooseberries last year. They taste awful, just like they used to. Hopefully, I'll get enough to make some jam one of these years.
We have a lot of invasive plants around here and I try to not increase the load.
The deer love them, so I doubt that they'll thrive. Its still worth it to try and grow them!
