It is for parents to raise their children. Not platforms.

The European Age Verification App is ready.

It will allow users to prove their age when accessing online platforms. Just like shops ask for proof of age for people buying alcoholic beverages.

And it ticks all the boxes:
✅ Highest privacy standards in the world
✅ Works on any device
✅ Easy to use
✅ Fully open source

@raccoon no, the EU app just reads the age information of your ID or passport. It's open source, any programmer can check it's realy this way. Maximal security, maximal privacy, maximal transparency!

Or you realy want your children to grow up watching hardcore rape scenes just clicking "are you 18 yo and older? Yes or no?" on portals, thinking this is normal?

This solution is a small compromise and doesn't hurt!

If your kid decides to do that and you didn't put any barriers for your kid to do that, it is only your fault and you can blame only yourself as a failed parent. Period.

@phnt @raccoon wrong, you live in Lalaland kids can be controled whole day and don't look for ways to pass parents control.
That's the reason children can't buy alcohol or tabaco, a practice that's usual and nobody discusses. If the seller don't want to sell, cause you look to young, you have to show your ID. Nobody questions this!

@SummerOf68 @raccoon So you want to live in a world where the government takes care of your kids instead of you, while using invasive regulation that doesn't need to exist. Got it.

Do you know why nobody questions alcohol/tobacco regulation and kids? Because showing your ID to a shopkeeper doesn't tie your indentity to everything you do online. The shopkeeper won't even remember your identity in a few hours.

Also if you think children cannot buy alcohol and tobacco products, and aren't bypassing the laws, you probably in an alternate universe then.

@Saorsa @phnt @raccoon @subnetter that someone is doxing anyone on the internet, is the first part of the conspiracy theory, here we go! 🤦🏻‍♂️

Repeating wrong claims over and over again, doesn't make them right!

The majority of population can even process their mobile phone halfways! 😂 They don't want to deal with something like this and give in to their children of they whining long enough to save their nerves, that's the reality!

Before KYC shit, one of the major credit score companies (which is required to open a credit card) got breached.

If you actually believe that nobody is going to hack stuff online, you should pawn off your PC.

@Saorsa @Ree@shitposter.world @SummerOf68@social.vivaldi.net @sendpaws@mitra.pawslut.party @phnt@fluffytail.org @raccoon@hollow.raccoon.quest @subnetter@shitposter.world It is the parents responsibility to watch their kids, if they fall victims to pedophiles and shit the parents should be held accountable for letting their kids frequent those spaces or not paying enough atention.
Parantal controls on phones are not hard to use.

And its fucked that the people who do not have or want kids become subject to this overreach of control where every single thing you do is logged and tracked.
It is stupid and shows that kids really should not have access to the internet.

Any parent that does this should not be a parent.

And im european
I've feeling that age verification laws are going to end up getting proven unconstitutional in a supreme court eventually.

You can't mandate that an entire country provide identification that places them at risk to exposure of tracking and profiling.

@Saorsa @xaetacore @phnt @raccoon @Ree @SummerOf68 @subnetter It'll be like gun laws are, the ambulance chasing lawyers will parade the kids and parents who had their kid either get hooked online or groomed by Discord types or pressured into doing horrid shit by 764/adjacent copycat groups.

The worst part is they're not even feds, they're the people who are given the rope to hang themselves and the freedom of speech online. This is all because platforms like Roblox not only fail to wrangle their tards, but somehow they manage to fuck it up harder.

@xaetacore @phnt @raccoon @Ree @SummerOf68 @Saorsa @subnetter The only groups that will do that are uber religious groups.

Cons: those groups also have a high tendency for their kids to go "fuck you mom and dad" the minute they touch the outside world even if they've been hardcore conditioned.

There's /r/exjew and it's all Orthodox Jewish kids. It's not even just more moderate jews deciding "fuck god and shit" it's people who were raised in those communities and want out.

@xaetacore @phnt @raccoon @Ree @SummerOf68 @Saorsa @subnetter That's why I said religious communities.

When you're Amish, Orthodox Jewish, etc. you don't have cell phones or you only have flip phones. I've been to an Orthodox Jewish house; it was interesting. The older kids only had flip phones, the adults had smartphones for work mainly, and the younger ones were running out and playing like normal kids did back in the day.

Oh and more importantly; there was no toilet paper because it's not permissible on Sabbath. You gotta use tissues to wipe your ass.
