LOVE how youtube guides for doing things on youtube on google's help page are ALL FUCKING WRONG because EVERYTHING IS OUTDATED (feature, not a bug!)

i wanna TURN OFF AUTOPLAY ARGH
i want PLAYLIST LOOP AND SHUFFLE TO WORK (they dont)

actually forced to switch away from youtube's frontend due to missing features

Google doesn't even respect that setting in Firefox when it's disable by default.
Disabling autoplay in google's UI requires 4 clics and it's annoying.

Loops work but I haven't seen shuffle setting.

Download and use VLC, it just works.

@mangeurdenuage @lebronjames75 I turned off autoplay on youtube forever ago and it stayed off. I would guess you have some sort of anti-cookie or anti-javascript thing enabled so it cant remember your settings.

@nimrod @lebronjames75 Browser auto purge itself so no I don't have any cookies like any sane person would.

But google is rapping my consent to not auto play any video/audio streams by default as I already said you can configure it in your browser.

@mangeurdenuage @nimrod i think you misunderstood me. i meant autoplay of new videos once a previous video ends. this happens instantly for me on youtube, the millisecond a old video ends a new video gets automatically loaded and played. no delay no nothing inbetween.

@Pi_rat @mangeurdenuage @nimrod blessed recommend, thinking about this recommend i found a plugin called "Unhook" which rectifies all my troubles of recent youtube

hides all shorts, stops all autoplay, fixes/removes inapt search results, and allows disabling of various other parts of the website as well in a functional, modular fashion

if i could pay youtube premium money for this exact way of browsing youtube, i would, quite unfortunate they are so retarded at youtube

did do some research on invidious, might have to do something like that you describe , when these plugins aint gonna be enough to keep youtube under control on my PC

@lebronjames75 @mangeurdenuage @nimrod There is inv.nadeko.net but it is down often(yt's fault), I use LibRedirect so any yt links automatically redirects me there, don't use an account either. You can subscribe to channels through rss but I just remember names of few I care about.

If you must use yt's fe, there is stylus, you can easily add css themes from it and have old look.
