i can't imagine buying a $5k truck and not dropping the pan for a look and feeling how the bearings are holding up
tbh 99% of all my practical knowledge has come from reading forum posts online

It's hard for many understand that most young people have never touched an engine and have no idea how it works. Every stereotype about boomers being completely ignorant about computers applies to zoomers and mechanics. My parents never even taught me how to change my oil, they expected me to just know.

i mean my pa never taught me how to change oil or anything, i've never seen him wrench on a car or much of anything. its outside his expertise. i read ancient forum posts on how to do it and went from there.
