Something something disposable income. Boomers bought more cars than anyone, only recently (2020-ish?) having been passed by gen X. (maybe 'cause they're dying?) At any rate gen X and boomers, combined, represent around 2/3rds of new car sales.

Right now, boomers are nearly 15X more likely to buy one than millennials. They're struggling to get younger buyers on board with a $70K debt - for a set of wheels controlled by a repair monopoly. Who knew? 😆

Rods don't just let go for no reason. If this guy threw one after five months of use, he was either beating the snot out of it *OR* he drove it into the ground through sheer neglect.

Time to buy some basic tools and dive in. Where's the nearest Harbor Freight? He might not even have to buy an engine hoist, I bet there are some truck forum members that would lend a hand.

It'd never happen, but like you said, a boy can dream. Iran might not ever be friendly to America, but making a clean break with israel would probably result in the Strait being opened overnight.
