Literally what alternative do you propose? I find this government unfit, treasonous and insolvent.

Tax strike won't really work unfortunately.
1. They extract value from you in places you can't really refuse, e.g. electricity cost, fuel cost, food cost
2. A large part of the empire is funded by non domestic sources anyway, for example "you must sell oil for dollars" thing, making the entire world hold their shitcoin.
As far as "well what's the alternative?" - there are some things that can be done, with some effectiveness, but unfortunately nothing as effective as what you're really looking for... :|
