Graphics have plateaued in a such a way that "retro" consoles no longer exist after the PS3. The graphical fidelity difference between the ps4/xbone and every console after is negligible at best.

Big enough that you could at least see the difference.

most of the games from both consoles use the same engine. Which is a massive part of the problem.
