@Goalkeeper @Curvin @MoeBritannica One of the things I liked a lot about Utena is that it showed the best way to deal with a toxic relationship is to leave it (for Utena to leave the academy and for Himemiya to leave her brother). Some things can not be salvaged.

I don't know if I would react as strongly to Utena now as I did in the 90s and early 00s. I'm not sure if I "aged out of it" or if my perspective on things is too different now.
