The Chip Security Act is supposed to put location verification into the chips to stop export to China, not spy on people who use it. This is technically infeasible so please no computer-illiterates claiming "if they do the one, they can do the other". They could not. Not with that same circuit.


The whole thing is AI brand marketing (Anthropic) versus panopticon lovers (Palantir and the Trump admin) and it's just painful to watch at this point, especially the Right Wing earning yet another :fellforitagainaward:
They literally got caught red-handed because obviously the mass surveillance company wants to do mass surveillance now that they're in government. What are we doing here?

That's not really relevant to my point, that's ill-defined, that's an obvious loophole, I don't make the laws, I don't agree with this one, I'm not interested in discussing legal minutiae in general, I reject the premise that proving such an exemption would be a good thing would imply anything about the current bill furthering mass surveillance, and I reject the premise that if it did that anthropic's stance on the other matter would be in any way impaired
