mostly true but not completely true. guillermo del toro made a frankenstein movie through netflix and it was good. there's a few other things here and there but the general argument is correct, its shit you can watch with your wife or girlfriend.

I watched some dramas on there with my wife and they're basically all reskinned one or two season soap operas no matter what genre they superficially appear to belong to. it's actually really frustrating because frequently they'll be kind of interesting until they get to a point where to wrap it up they need good writing--but they aren't good, so the characters do something really stupid, or perform a deus ex machina and end the show.

my wife and I noticed this watching "Wednesday" where things kept happening that could have been prevented if someone just shut a door. like a bird flies in and steals something, because they left a door open. in another scene, they go in a secret entrance, and someone follows them in because they left the entrance open. guys attack them because they got in a locked room and didn't shut the door. at a certain point it got kind of silly.

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell is on Prime. It's a pretty interesting magical realism period piece set during the Napoleonic Wars in an alternate reality where magic exists. It's very foidcoded, but I found it charming despite certain historical anachronisms which got my autism acting up.

If you are looking for something to watch with the wife it might be worth checking out.
