Edit: Then again, isn't a ninjato designed as a piercing weapon anyways? (I'm not sure of that 'cause I know more about Middle East swords rather than weeb swords) So it might not matter which direction it is facing, since it would be used (I guess) by ramming into the target like some kind of horn.
