@Ghislaine I maintain that half the reason neocons pushed the war in Iran was to derail the administration's legitimately strong immigration record.
@AmericanChampion I donβt see how itβs derailed tbh
@Ghislaine You can argue the degree, but the senate odds and 2028 presidency odds are both down significantly as a result of the war. Questionable whether a Dem senate is meaningfully different from Thune's, I suppose.
@AmericanChampion yeah hard to say about the senate. just have to win real quick and public opinion will be back on side no problem anyway ππ»
@Ghislaine Doesn't look like the war's being won. Trump's advisors seem to be feeding him ridiculous false information with the explicit intention of making him look bad.
@AmericanChampion @Ghislaine This is what kills me about the whole thing. Trump had a shot, albeit a small one, to reverse the polling and the typical non-Presidential year results where the party in power loses seats, to pull out holding onto Congress.
Now? I don't see it, unless this thing somehow ends right now and the Gulf reopens. Iran has zero reason whatsoever to be that charitable, and Trump is showing every sign of being boxed in.
All this so Israel could get its war against Iran. Fuck this.

@DailyStormerDigest @Ghislaine Eh, it's not all bad. As long as there are no boots on the ground, the outcome has been that Iran asserted its continued existence, Israel burned the last of its political capital with the American people, and American bases throughout the Middle East have been rendered unusable. Maybe Iran actually gets a nuke, and Israel's ambitions are permanently cut short. Moreover, I always wanted to see Tel Aviv get whacked with cluster missiles.
Trump's advisors are certainly not on his side, but he's showing every sign that he wants out of this.
