@Shadowbroker2135 I personally like the wisdom in what Sun Tzu said about giving your enemy a way out.
If you push them into a corner, and they realize they're cornered, they'll fight harder than if you give them the option to retreat.
I supposed you can boil it down to:
"Morale will break faster than survival instincts"
