1@lain when you are a company that wants to attract designers as customers, you make a font. You hire one font designer. It costs like 150,000$, which is nothing. You give him a brief about what you want. It looks like fucking Helvetica except the G looks stupid for some reason. Then you put it on a website. Designers flock to you to talk about how special that G looks despite your funny being indistinguishable from Helvetica.
Mozilla did it. IBM did it. Everybody does it eventually when they have enough money and no idea what else to try.
