1@sun@shitposter.world Almost invariably after screening they had a meeting! I love meetings. My guess:
Bob: "I like it but in that shooting scene it doesn't seem futuristic enough"
Jebediah: "It's ok we'll just add some pink laser stuff on top of the cells, update the audio, reshoot those frames on film and it'll beeeee fine."
Bob: "Sounds great!"

@nom @sun late 20th century cartoons were weird... basically what they would do is show kids cartoons in production to a focus group of old ladies and listen to all their objections about things kids shouldn't be seeing. they'd do things like make it so they couldn't show explosions, they could only show the smoke emerging from a hallway after the fact, or they couldn't use a knife to cut a rope because that'd make kids more likely to pick up a knife and try to use it for useful things, so they had to use a sharp rock or a pair of scissors.
guns and shit would be right out, but purple lasers and shit were often ok. what I suspect happened is that the old ladies objected to the use of guns, so they slapped some purple glow on the footage and called it a day.
