Just realized you could convert a 2 stroke snowmobile engine to not require oil in the fuel.

1. Add a turbocharger so it gets forced induction while running
2. Add a small electric supercharger (e.g. leaf blower fan) for starting
3. Add an oil pump and switch to a drilled crankshaft and pressurized oil bearings

Leave the whole (tuned) intake / exhaust system intact, it needs to be re-tuned a little bit for the turbo, but that's just muffler design.

Would be an efficient way to get a lightweight experimental aircraft engine...

Normally it's just splash lubrication. Unfortunately 2 strokes have no oil control ring so it will burn oil.

I realized after posting that biggest challenge is the transfer ports which connect the crankcase to the cylinder. Those have to be plugged and re-drilled to connect the cylinder to the (to be designed) intake manifold.
