@vitalis also, to drag this out, I honestly don’t know why the movie got so much hate. Even Lynch wouldn’t discuss it in interviews. The ‘weirding modules’ or whatever were kind of stupid, but the change was approved by Herbert. But the sets and art were beautiful imho, in that sense more creative and giving a sense of a far future that would look to us alien and bizarre. Ok I’ll stop now.
@thomas_klopf @vitalis it got hate because it was David Lynch weird. For example, I wonder if he had the CGI tech would he have still done something weird and abstract like the square shields. The navigators, the baron, the Mentats, all visually disturbing, the Sardaukar costumes, all Lynch through and through.
But you're it's a visual masterpiece. That scene where the Atreides walk out of the landing craft is worth the price of admission.
