@animeirl why did they even call it marathon? i always thought it was a kinda lame name, nobody cares about the sport, the historical battlefield or the game series. the games are actually interesting but this new game doesn't relate to them.

@lain reboot/remake culture i assume. everything has to be a recognizable IP, even a niche one is still better than new according to the bean counters

@animeirl @lain true. The same with prey 2017 even if only I and 5 other dudes played and remember the 2006 game. In the case of marathon it seems even weirder because it only carved a really small space in the collective memory of zoomers, the target audience I believe of the new marathon, when they got released on xbox live arcade when we were all 10 and saw them front and center in the marketplace alongside the bungie logo
