Once a corner section of the waterproofing layer on the (concrete) roof was cut away, we found a hairline crack underneath, which explains the leak.

Next steps: clear away debris, use an angle grinder to enlarge the crack along its length and make it somewhat V-shaped, clean, moisten, and then fill with polymer-modified cement, put on another protective coat on the surface, then redo the waterproofing.

The crack is filled. Now it has to cure for 24 hours before we apply another coat on top.
