@Merc i was thinking about this after watching a chris hansen video. ts problem is 100% modeling and 0.00001% math

you know your age difference is constant, and is 25 - 13 = 12

given x as your age and y as hers, you can model this with:

x - y = 12 (1)

given your principled constraint, you have

x/2 + 7 = y (2)

you solve for x:

x - 12 = y (1) => x - 12 = x/2 + 7 (2)

x = x/2 + 19 =>
x - x/2 = 19 =>
2x -x = 38 =>
x = 38 (your age)

x - y = 12 (1) => 38 - y = 12 => y = 26 (her age)

because the equations are satisfied in the future, you subtract your current ages

38 - 25 = 13

you have to wait 13 years to be together with your beloved wife susie
