Dutch scientists: Your headphones are making you gay.

A lab in the Netherlands performed tests on numerous headphones and found them to possess xenoestrogenic compouns (xecs), which mimic hormones, that can cause neurodevelopmental problems and the feminization of males.

Leading products from Bose, Panasonic, Samsung and some Sennheiser headphones and other companies are now being pulled off the shelves.

Notable on the list of headphones possessing dangerous levels of these chemicals are gaming headphones from Razer.

“Daily use – especially during exercise when heat and sweat are present – accelerates this migration directly to the skin.”

From the study: Bisfenol A (BPA). Easy to enter your body through your skin when you wear the headphones for long or when you sweat while having them on. Even small quantities can weaken your immune system, cause fertility issues and allergic rashes.

@graf @CatLord I've always used razer products because they're neat and have always lasted a very long time (my original pair lasted 15 years) but their customer support sucks and like everything else quality has suffered as the empire is collapsing

One important note though is that I virtually never wear my headphones directly on my skin but rather I will usually put a hoodie or something between the earpiece and my head
I was doing it for hearing protection reasons but if the study is correct then I also saved myself from the gay
@elftummy @CatLord On a Razer Blade 14 2025 with a 5070ti right now. Replaced my desktop with a Razer Blade 16 2025 with a 5080. Love the fact I can grab either of them and take them anywhere I end up driving to work. Detroit? Yep. Across the country? Will find out in a couple days or a week. Never tried their headphones because the audio on the laptops is fucking garbage unless you get the 18". They have a THX certification (and the drivers are fucking garbage) but the speakers are very tinny and quiet. I've owned like 5 Razer Blades since 2018 and they all have this issue
@graf @CatLord I've never used any of their computers but I've had one of their "naga"mice that was great but the braided cable caused a short after 10 years of heavy daily use and I now use ergo mice

And I had the original barracuda headphones that lasted 15 years of heavy daily use

Now I have a pair of their wireless headphones and I like them a lot.
@tomey @CatLord @elftummy I'm on the 14" sitting in my living room with an ambient temp of 72. My 16" upstairs is on a cooling pad nd sometimes when I do AI shit it ramps up the fans to 6000+rpm and it sounds like a jet with temps around 80C. I think it's because of the fact razers allow the GPU to get more power than other manufacturers. I think the TDP on this one is 140W so my other must be 160-180W. That's a lot to dissipate in a tiny aluminum frame
